Hello again, this thing called blogging

It's almost midnight. I'm awake catching up on Agents of Shield, waiting for my latest batch of earring pieces to cure in the air fryer. Dino nuggets and earrings. My most used appliance. My three year old won't sleep. I don't blame her. I don't want to sleep either, really. I have so many ideas for earrings I don't want to break for anything else. This week I have been prepping for a party on June 26th - my cousin Becky requested a summer block party theme, so I made a bunch of red white and blue... and then I realized pride month was upon us. So I have been rainbowing my heart out, and plan on donating 20% to the Trevor Project. I feel like I have momentum, suddenly. All I have wanted to do since I was very, very young was to make and sell the things that I make. I started crocheting and selling earrings about 10 years ago, with a lot of fits and bursts and stops and stalls. Last year at MOB Con one of the speakers said, "treat it like a hobby and it will pay like a hobby. Treat it like a job and it will pay like a job." That lit something in me that had been low-level sparking for a lonnnnng time.

I also found the blog I kept way back then. It's fun to read it and look at ALL THE TIME I HAD BEFORE I HAD KIDS. Hahaha.

Alright. I finally hear less noise from the kids bedroom, and these earring bits are cooled. I just ordered more hardware so that I can put them together this weekend, and photograph for the party on the 26th. Time to go try to sleep.

Oh but wait - first, a list.

Things I have accomplished this week (along with my BFF kiera who is also in charge of my executive functioning)

  • made new earring cards, for regular earrings and studs

  • ordered new business cards with new branding

  • Redid my website! Has new art, and links to the online Royaboya Bazaar

  • Got a bunch of new clay cutters from my cousins!

  • mailed out all the earrings from the last party

  • Printed new packaging stickers

  • ordered new boxes

  • Created wholesale price sheet and uploaded to website

  • Responded to a brick and mortar about selling wholesale

  • Put together 68 pairs of earrings

  • Made a bunch of earring parts!

So very very very grateful for best friends who believe in me and have crazy amazing graphic design skills too.

okay. now really bed.
